I created this zine to challenge the idea that an art history degree only leads to academia or museum work. Too often, students feel trapped by traditional career paths, unaware of the vast possibilities their skills open up. This guide offers some potential ways students may use their skills outside the traditional realm of museums, galleries, and academia.
Art history cultivates critical thinking, visual literacy, research expertise, and storytelling—abilities that translate into various careers across many different industies. This zine is a resource and a reminder that there are many ways to apply an art historian’s perspective in the world. Your career doesn’t have to follow a straight line—it can be just as dynamic and interdisciplinary as the field itself.
Though it was created for Elon students, please feel free to download and print out the zine for any educational or personal use. Please get in touch if you'd like to use it for any other purposes. It is best suited for 8.5" x 11" paper (US Letter), and can be printed in both color and B&W. I've also linked a guide which shows how to properly fold the zine.
